Running into our spotlight is County Line Runner. With a relaxed Americana sound and a debut single produced by Bill Ryder-Jones (former member of The Coral), it looks like an extremely strong start.
Joining forces with long term friend Sam Baldwin, musician and songwriter Adam Day formed County Line Runner. Hard To Find is an undeniably smooth and airy track, it’s quite a fast tempo but keeps its cool throughout. The production is simply outstanding and with its glorious synths and sound effects, you’ll be soaking up the atmosphere of this track in no time.
Taking influence from the likes of Tom Petty and the later years of Bob Dylan in the 80s and 90s, Hard To Find is a classy song from every aspect. Even though there’s a bit of nostalgia with this track, there’s an evident sound of The War on Drugs present. The song depicts a couple breaking up in London and that message is complemented by the dramatic instrumentation. With a classic acoustic rhythm all the way through, a closely matched electric guitar and warming piano notes, Hard To Find is one of the best debut singles we have heard this year.
Adam Day has been captivating audiences since the days of his first band Lyrebirds and has since been involved on the Cosmo EP at the request of his friend Felix White (The Maccabees), penning standout track ‘Neon Citied Sea’, featuring Florence Welch on backing vocals. County Line Runner is the next chapter for Day though and we can’t wait to hear what’s coming next.
