Carousel are gaining plenty of love from all over the UK and are one of Southend’s finest bands. With their feelgood Indie-Americana sound they never fail to impress and their brand new single entitled Don’t Let It Die is their most upbeat song to date.
Fresh off the back of performing at Black Deer Festival, the Essex four-piece never slow down and have a busy few months ahead. Don’t Let It Die is one of the best soundtracks for the summer and will be on the car stereo every time I roll the windows down.
With it’s infectious country style guitar licks, rolling bass line and hammering drums, Don’t Let It Die is an excitable track that will make you smile with ease. With more pop elements to indulge than their last single My Father’s Son, you can really hear all of their influences coming to life. Classic harmonies shine extremely bright and the huge chorus becomes the centre of attention once everything gets going.
Carousel explain a little more about the single below:
“‘Don’t Let It Die’ was written as an open letter to creative minds. Within the lyrics, we wanted to encapsulate the feeling of being inspired but misunderstood, as many of us artists are. Equally, we felt the need to reiterate how important art is to society. It is so crucial that art plays its part in people’s lives in times of political and social struggle, that they welcome it in and find some respite within.”
Overall, Don’t Let It Die is one of their best yet and we absolutely love the mix of music that they release. Carousel will be performing at the likes of the Cambridge Folk Festival this summer before hitting the road for a UK headline tour, including a date at Chinnerys in Southend which will be far to good to miss. You can check out their full tour dates below and if you tap the poster, you’ll be able to get tickets for your chosen date.
