Emily Frith returns with a brand new single entitled Giving Up On Love and it’s a straight up pop-rock track with fiery lyrics.
Giving Up On Love shows progression in Emily’s music as well as a new sound. The Southend singer/songwriter has previously focused on the country-pop genre but is slowly steering away from that. This new single is the follow up to Better and if you were a fan of that, you’ll love this one.
Emily shares her thoughts on Giving Up On Love below:
“I really love experimenting with my sound because I am so inspired and influenced by so many various genres and artists nowadays, and it’s hard to place me into a genre category; which is something I like.”
Giving Up On Love was recorded at SS2 Recordings and has strong rocked up elements. It’s based around the chorus, which comes crashing in with edgy guitars and loud drums. It’s nice to see Emily experimenting with her music, why stick to just one genre?
The only extra thing that I would love to hear in this track is something going on in the top-end, a lead guitar or something with a nice bright sound. That being said, Giving Up On Love comes out with quite a raw power-pop style like this and ties in very well with the meaning.
Emily dives in deeper and tells us what her new single is all about below:
“This song is all about the heartbreak of falling in love with somebody who doesn’t know how to love, and realising that at the end of the day, you should love yourself first.”
Giving Up On Love is a strong step forward for Emily Frith and we’re looking forward to hearing more progression with her music. The single is already gaining plenty of attention from the likes of BBC Radio Norfolk, where Emily currently resides for University. She returns to Essex to play an initiate show later this week at London Road Studios in Leigh-on-Sea, Southend.
