We returned to Peggy Sue’s Music Bar for our second Art Will Fall Presents live event on Saturday 13th April. With Emily Faye, Megan Rose and Darrah performing, the Leigh-on-Sea audience were in for a huge treat.
Essex favourite Darrah was up first with his blend of acoustic, folk-punk. His comical character warmed up the audience perfectly and his well crafted songs had everyone indulged in no time. One of the main things you notice about Darrah is how lost he gets in performing. He’s an artist that really falls into his music and we’re big fans of that.
Darrah is sometimes seen with a live band but his stripped back set was fantastic. His set list included ‘Can’t Tax The Sun’, ‘Business’ and many more. A must see act and we can’t wait to hear even more from him soon.
Up next was rising country-pop artist Emily Faye. Known for her wonderful voice, excitable personality and incredibly well written tracks, this was her first time performing in Leigh-on-Sea. Hailing from Northampton, Faye is a key act on the UK Country music scene and it was a pleasure to have her on the line up.
Kicking things off with her upbeat, classic country song ‘Open Road’, Faye and her two band members brought plenty of life to Peggy Sue’s. Consistently smiling all the way through her set, Faye and her band performed tracks from her recent EP such as ‘Me For Me’ and ‘Giving In’ as well as her brand new single ‘Sucks To Be You’.
Emily Faye, backed by George Price and Danny McMahon brought absolute joy to Essex on Saturday. We’re huge fans of her music and she has plenty lined up for 2019. Be sure to follow her online here and listen to ‘Sucks To Be You’ here.
The final act of the night was Essex country artist Megan Rose. Backed by Toby Shaer on guitar and fiddle as well as Adam Bass on percussion, the trio performed a lively set that left everyone on a high.
Rose regularly performs around the county and it was great to have her closing the night. Her powerful vocals won the audience over with ease and Shaer’s fiddle playing was impressive. Tracks included ‘Brave This’ from her recent EP as well as a brand new song entitled ‘Man in the Hat’, which she also teased would be out later in the year.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Peggy Sue’s for letting us put on the show and of course to the artists and their band members for coming down to play. Be sure to keep up to date with all things Art Will Fall and we look forward to putting on the next event soon.
