Asylums are a band that are more than well known in Essex and they played a mighty set at Village Green this year.

Fresh off the back of supporting Iggy Pop, the Southend four-piece unleashed their powerful sound on the main stage. We’re huge fans of Asylums and this show didn’t disappoint. With frontman Luke Branch jumping around in usual fashion, their set was truly unforgettable.

The band performed tracks from their recent album including ‘Alien Human Emotions’ and ‘Millennials’. Other highlights included ‘Joy In A Small Wage’ which went down a storm with the crowd.

Asylums always put on a good show but this had even more energy than usual. Branch even found the moment to crowd surf and it was a great ending to a highly impressive set.

If you haven’t seen these guys live before, then you absolutely have to. In the meantime, check out their latest album on Spotify below and be sure to follow them online here.

We would also like to say a huge thanks to Olly Clements for the incredible photos. Be sure to follow him on Instagram here.
