Abbie Ozard is an indie-pop breakthrough artist in the making. With just three singles under her belt, she has already gained the attention of BBC Radio 1 and indie-rock band, Blossoms. Her latest release ‘Heartbreak Radio’ is a wonderfully upbeat track that will stick in your mind.
The Manchester based singer/songwriter takes influence from modern artists such as Snail Mail and Fenne Lily. ‘Heartbreak Radio’ is a playful single that also touches on shoe-gaze. The production sounds old school, in a good way. Soft synths, bright guitars and fast paced drums provide a strong backdrop for Ozard’s modern indie vocals.
As much as her music is about creative sounds, it’s also about her lyrics. Ozard explains more about her latest single below:
“I think every single person who has been through a relationship will have a song that comes on and it instantly reminds you of a previous relationship. The brain is a mad thing and the fact that a melody can you remind you of a certain chapter in your life shows how powerful music really is without you even realising.
‘Heartbreak Radio’ reiterates the fact moments in your life will never be forgotten when they are put together with music. With some reminding, memories never leave your head and will stay with us forever.”
It’s clear that Abbie Ozard is an exciting new artist. With thousands of streams already, her commercial yet creative sound is bound to take her even further.
