Aymee Weir is a hugely talented singer/songwriter and her recent releases have been a joy to listen to. ‘Stay That Way’ is a brand new single that shows a different side to her songwriting.
The single is a slow-tempo track that is more of a ballad than the upbeat electro-pop we have become very familiar with. It’s an emotional track that was written about wanting to revisit a past relationship but realising it’s in the past for a reason.
‘Stay That Way’ is heavily based around the piano, which adds a wonderful simplicity to the meaning. With light percussion, acoustic guitars and a small amount of atmospheric synths gradually building in, ‘Stay That Way’ still fits in with her previous singles.
As well as the stunning instrumentation, Weir’s lead vocals and backing vocals tell the story. Her voice fits modern pop music perfectly and shines on this new release.
Weir was recently joined on stage by BRIT Award winner Tom Walker at a London gig. She has also performed at BBC Introducing events this year and had her music played on BBC 6 Music.
Aymee Weir is an exciting new artist that is bound for great things in music. Be sure to catch her live at one of her gigs or busking around London.
