Chris Hobart is well known on the Essex music scene, most recently for being part of Southend band Carousel. He has since unveiled a solo project and will go under the name of Chris Canon.

His first release is a single entitled ‘Healing’ and it’s a personal track. Canon has spoken out about his struggles with depression and depersonalisation. He wants his music to help end the stigma still attached to mental health problems and wants to bring people together in a supportive community. ‘Healing’ expresses his story and leaves the listener with an uplifting message. Canon tells us that he believes recovery is achievable when you find your true passion in life.

Through his heartfelt lyrics and well crafted songwriting, Canon has created a brilliant track that will be relevant to a lot of people. Musically, ‘Healing’ is just wonderful. Delicate, warming acoustic tones lay the foundations and compliment Canon’s strong vocals. As the track builds, empowering strings are introduced and impressive drums bring everything together perfectly. If you liked Carousel, you will love this new track by Chris Canon.

It’s great that Chris has released this track and opened up about his struggles. It’s great to see that more and more people are doing the same as well. We all have mental health and everyone is likely to go through something that will affect theirs. We are strong supporters of all things mental health and we plan to talk a lot more about it in the future.
