South-African born artist Julia Church is back with a brand new single entitled ‘Crawl’. It’s the follow up to ‘Tremble’, which was simply outstanding.
‘Crawl’ has been shaped into a warming alt-pop track with a dark edge using a mix of electronic and real instruments. It’s led by Church’s lead vocals which are both stunning and powerful. The production is wonderfully creative yet simple. Atmospheric guitars and synths meet effective percussion whilst backing vocals and harmonies enhance her lead vocals in the very best way.
Written about a burdening relationship that she’s not ready to let go of, Church uses the production to gradually build the track throughout, making it incredibly empowering. She tells us more below:
“Crawl is my third single, which I produced with the super talented Ben De Vries. It’s an older one that I wrote at uni, while in quite a toxic relationship. It’s basically about being a rock to someone who is struggling and how it was so often at the cost of my own well-being.”
Julia Church is an artist and producer who has already achieved so much. From gaining success in South-Africa to graduating from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts where she worked on a one to one songwriting session with Sir Paul McCartney.
With a debut album on the way, Julia Church is one to watch and keep on your radar. We are huge fans of what she does and we can’t wait to hear more.
